  • Avoid saturated fats and trans fats;
  • Prefer unsaturated fats;
  • Cook smartly – boil, roast, steam, grill and remove all visible fat from meat and fish;
  • Avoid frying but if you do, choose the right fats – use vegetable oils, such as sunflower, linseed, peanut and olive oil.
  • Consume:

- Daily: dark-colored vegetables or salads, as well as vegetable soup, and fruits rich in fiber, to help reduce the absorption of cholesterol in the intestine;

– Regularly: fish rich in omega-3 (salmon, sardines, mackerel, tuna, dorado, horse mackerel);

– Moderately: walnuts, hazelnuts and flax and chia seeds.
