At the Allure clinic, the Nutrition area is headed by Dr. Barbara Nogueira , from the Dr. Carmen Fortes and the Prof. Doctor Inês Tomada.

Nutrition consultation aims to promote improved health and disease prevention and control. Nutrition is one of the main determinants of health, and as such, a healthy and balanced diet should be a priority for those who want to live longer and better.

The approach used is individualized and personalized. During the consultation, a detailed anthropometric assessment is carried out, a rigorous analysis of the clinical history/dietary anamnesis is carried out and a structured eating plan, adapted to you and your needs.

With cutting-edge technology, Allure Clinic also offers several tests in the area of Nutrition, such as: DNA Diet, DNA Health®, DNA Skin, DNA Mind, DNA Oestrogen and DNA Sport (see treatments).

Body composition assessment - InBody580® 

The importance of assessing body composition in the prevention, detection and treatment of various pathologies is recognized.

At Allure Clinic, we use the most advanced tetrapolar bioimpedance technology, using the InBody580® (Porto) and InBody120® (Leg Clinic® by Allure in Lisbon) equipment.

This mechanism works as an added value in defining the individual approach, as it allows a detailed analysis of body composition.

Through a quick and non-invasive analysis, it measures the impedance of the 4 limbs and the trunk, providing a set of relevant parameters, the highlights of which are:

• Analysis of fat mass;
• Lean mass analysis;
• Analysis of muscle mass;
• Body water analysis;
• Visceral fat;
• Basal metabolism.

This test is contraindicated in patients with pacemakers. It has some limitations, particularly in pregnant women, as amniotic fluid skews the results.
