What is Bromhidrosis?
Bromhidrosis is commonly known as bad body odor caused by perspiration, which can be uncontrollable despite all hygiene measures. It occurs most frequently in the armpits, but can also be felt in the groin or feet.
This condition, although not harmful to health, causes social discomfort and is considered an unpleasant factor that interferes with the daily lives of patients, significantly affecting their quality of life.
The development of the glands responsible for this problem is most pronounced between the ages of 8 and 14, which is why body odor becomes more evident at this time of transition from childhood to adolescence.

Causes
Bromhidrosis occurs due to the production of sweat through the apocrine glands. These glands secrete a more viscous sweat and, therefore, more conducive to the multiplication of bacteria, which, in turn, are responsible for the bad odor.
Additionally, there are some personal habits that can worsen this condition. These include:
- Consumption of foods such as onion or garlic;
- Alcohol intake;
- Lack of hygiene in the body or clothing used;
- Abundance of hair in the armpits or groin.
