Implants
Types of implants
Available breast implants differ not only in size but also in many other characteristics. To select the implant that best suits your needs, it's important to discuss the different options with your surgeon.
Profile
There are available round or anatomical implants (teardrop-shaped). Round implants are often mistakenly perceived as "more artificial." In fact, this implant profile conforms very well to the shape of the breast, allowing for a harmonious and natural result.
Anatomically shaped implants are widely used in breast reconstruction, but they can also be used in breast augmentation surgeries. The choice of implant profile depends on the physical examination and the patient's expectations and desires.
Surface
There are available smooth surface implants or microtextured surface implants. The selection of the implant surface depends on the characteristics of each patient.
Content
The most commonly used implants in Europe are filled with a highly cohesive silicone gel (with a "gum" consistency), providing a more natural feel and consistency. Alternatively, there are saline implants filled with saline. The choice of implant content depends on the characteristics and desires of each patient.
Coating
Implants with silicone or polyurethane coating. The selection of the implant coating depends on the clinical history, physical examination and expectations of each patient.
