PalmaDry Treatment
PalmaDry is an iontophoresis procedure, that is, it uses a unidirectional current, through water, which carries a slight electrical current to the surface of the skin.
In the comfort of their own home, using their own portable equipment, the patient simply needs to dip their hands or feet into two trays that are previously filled with water.
The metal plates at the base of the device release a low-intensity electrical wave, without any discomfort, which is conducted by the water and “numbs” the sweat glands responsible for excess sweat.
At the beginning of treatment, daily sessions are performed for an expected period of 8 to 10 days. After this period, the palmar or plantar hyperhidrosis condition is expected to have resolved.
From that point on, only spaced maintenance sessions will be carried out according to each person's needs. These maintenance sessions may be weekly, biweekly, or at other intervals, depending on each case.
Contraindications
Almost everyone suffering from palmar hyperhidrosis benefits from this procedure, as there are very few contraindications.
PalmaDry cannot be performed by anyone who has:
- Pacemaker or implantable defibrillators;
- Need for home oxygen therapy;
- People undergoing orthopedic surgery, with metallic material in the areas to be treated;
