Biography of Dr. Marianna Lou

Specialist in Dermatofunctional Physiotherapy

Dr. Marianna Lou is a specialist in Oncological and Dermatofunctional Physiotherapy.

Graduated in Physiotherapy from Gama Filho University, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2002).

Holds specialization in Physiotherapy in Oncology, by the National Cancer Institute (INCA), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2006).
At this Institute, he learned and had the opportunity to work with the best and most qualified professionals in the oncology field.
She was a civil servant at Cancer Hospital III (HCIII), where she participated in several scientific studies and developed her clinical practice in specialized treatment protocols for breast cancer and lymphedema.

She holds a Master's and a PhD in Bioethics and Public Health from the Fluminense Federal University, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2012 and 2017), developing scientific research in the area of social justice and access to cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Throughout his professional career, he developed a passion and acquired vast experience in the field of Lymphology, working in the investigation, diagnosis and treatment of primary and secondary lymphedemas.

In 2008, he began his international training in Manual Lymphatic Drainage by the Vodder School of Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Associated Therapies (Argentina). Manual lymphatic drainage is a technique developed by Dr. Emile Vodder and his wife in 1932, recognized worldwide for its excellent results in the treatment of vascular and lymphatic pathologies.

Always seeking scientific updates, innovation and new challenges, he has completed several training courses and workshops in the areas of aesthetics, cosmetology, apparatus, new technologies, scar tissue, plastic surgery and lipedema, starting his specialization in Dermatofunctional Physiotherapy in Portugal (2023).

With over 20 years of professional experience, he is currently part of the Allure Clinic team in Porto, working in the pre-, intra- and post-operative stages of Plastic Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Lipedema, in the conservative treatment of lipedema, lymphedema and venous pathologies, as well as in aesthetic treatments.
