What is Hyperhidrosis of the Hands and Feet?
Palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis is characterized by excessive sweating on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet.
Patients report uncontrollable sweating that leaves their hands wet and their feet soaked. Daily hygiene, the application of talcum powder, or other products only alleviates symptoms briefly, but does not resolve the discomfort this condition causes.
It's a physical issue, but it has a huge psychological impact. Excessive sweating affects people's confidence and self-esteem. It restricts gestures as simple as a handshake.

Causes of Palmar Hyperhidrosis
In most cases, there's no external stimulus or pathological condition that encourages excessive sweat production by the sweat glands. It simply happens. Studies suggest a genetic predisposition.
Excessive sweating can be aggravated by intense heat or anxiety, but even in dry, cold weather, patients experience slippery hands and feet.
